Iโm watching the new Billabong Team Movie โMergeโ while Sublimeโs โSanteriaโ is playing from a speaker in the adjoining room. My wife is painting with some family, who have been in town visiting for the past couple of days. Iโm also reading about DSRT Surf, the New Kid on the Wave Pool block. My Social Media has been flooded with clips of everyone from the Official Wave Pool Tester Jacob Szekely to the Colapinto brothers and Cole Houshmand surfing it – the initial reviews are good.

Creed McTaggart just did a huge slob rocket air that I thought was really sick. I surfed in a heat against Creed back when I was in High School. I just told that to my 7 year old, who is watching with me.
โDid he smoke you?โ
Yes. Yes he did.
The Challenger Series is about to start. I actually thought it was already going because apparently thereโs a QS preceding the CS at Ballito, and the WSL has a very misleading โBallito Pro Finals Dayโ Live Stream currently up and running.
This Billabong movie was pretty good. Nothing like Ritualistic Tendencies. That is a shoe in for Movie Of The Year. If you havenโt seen it, go watch right now. Anyways, Ethan Ewing can pigdog pretty well. Better than I remember. He could have a couple of results coming up here in the juice at Teahupoo and Cloudbreak. I donโt foresee a win, but we already know how terrible my predictions have been this year. Heโll make some valuable heats, but weโve got plenty of time to get into that. Event window for the End Of The Road isnโt until August 8th. Iโm not here for Tour Talk right now anyway.
The above was written on Friday Night before I fell asleep on the couch with my computer open. Saturday morning I woke up and went down to the IForget Airshow, I surfed, I ran late to my nieceโs 1st birthday party in Laguna Beach, and then I ran late to my step brotherโs engagement party at my momโs house in Westminster. This is a little snapshot into my life and my brain at the moment. Constantly running around, somewhere to be at all times, always late. Iโm not making excuses, thatโs just what it is.
Iโm working on learning to love the madness. Accepting the chaos. Finding the groove in the record, and letting the music play. You know when you have that really good surf, the one you feel like you caught all of the good waves? Like Gerry Lopez out at Pipe. It’s a big, giant ocean out there, but Mr. Pipeline could fit right in that rhythm out there at the Banzai. In perfect tune in that one little spot of that giant ocean. This is what I am aspiring to find.
Anyways, since that little update on Friday, the Challenger Series has gotten underway in Ballito, Jacob Szekely won that IForget Airshow that I mentioned, and the events for the US Open have started to stack up. 2 weeks away (enter [sarcastic] cheering emoji). Cant wait.
Iโm back on the program. Iโm sure you’re tired of hearing that. Here are some photos I found on Social Media from the 3rd Annual IForget Airshow.

Talk soon.
Cheers,
